Furniture for a Children's Daycare Centre
Children always hate being left at the day care centre because of the separation from the parents, from their homes that they are so comfortable in and from their rooms filled with toys and fun things. This is probably because of the fact that not all day care owners focus on the furniture required here. The primary focus is laid on the safety of the child, which of course is absolutely necessary, but it is also important to make sure the place looks happy, bright and full of fun. This helps the children feel comfortable and makes day care sounds like a fun place to go to. We all know that furniture with sharp edges, high seats, loose wooden chips etc should be avoided to ensure that the child is not injured in any way, but here are a few tips to make the place look fun.
Firstly, no child wants to sit on a plain wooden brown colored chair with a plain wooden brown colored desk to work at. You could make the desk and chair a pair that the child is familiar with, for instance, the backrest of the chair can be in the shape of Jerry the mouse and the legs of the desk can be like the legs of Tom the cat. Hence, as the child is familiar with the cartoon Tom and Jerry, this will make him or her fall in love with the place. Similarly, you could use Mickey and Minnie mouse, Donald and Daisy duck, Barbie and Ken, or even action heroes and their villains like in Superman or Spiderman for the little boys.
At the entrance of play schools, we find shelves for the kids to keep their water bottles, snack boxes etc. These can be in the form of lockers that look like magic chests. Children always love to make believe that they have their own magic chests with lots of treasure in them. Each can have a big huge shiny lock with shiny keys to open them. Make sure the keys are big in size so that the kids do not swallow them by mistake.
The walls, floor and ceiling of the room can be decorated with lots of pictures, stickers, wallpapers of educational and fun filled facts. Children should always be comfortable no matter where they are. This will also give working parents peace of mind to know that their children are left in good hands that make sure the child is safe, learning well, and having fun at the same time.
